Every year we hold a modelling competition open to all members. This year's competition was held on Friday 13 August 2010.

The results of the competition were:

Senior members

Locomotives, scratch built - GWR 0-4-0 broad gauge steam crane  locomotive ‘Polly’, 4 mm scale, Peter Betts

Locomotives, kit built - NSW railmotor 38 Creamy Kate, H0 gauge, Warren Faulkner

Locomotives, best overall and perpetual trophy winner - NSW railmotor 38 Creamy Kate, H0 gauge, Warren Faulkner. Runner-up - GWR 0-4-0 broad gauge steam crane  locomotive ‘Polly’, 4 mm scale, Peter Betts

Rolling stock, scratch built - Two GWR broad gauge goods wagons 197 and 211, 4 mm scale, Peter Betts

Rolling stock, kit built - Seven NSWGR LCH/CCH Coal hopper wagons, H0 gauge, Murray Simpson

Rolling stock, modified proprietary - Four NSWGR S wagons weathered with detailing, H0 gauge, Geoff Brown

Rolling stock, best overall and perpetual trophy winner - Four NSWGR S wagons weathered with detailing, H0 gauge, Geoff Brown. Runner-up - Two GWR broad gauge goods wagons 197 and 211, 4 mm scale, Peter Betts

Dioramas, kit plus scratch built - equal 1st place: Gravel loader and tippler, H0 scale, Albert Anderson and Australian country scene, H0 scale, Peter Moses

Miscellaneous, scratch built - British junction signal, 4mm scale, Peter Betts

President's Encouragement Award - Albert Anderson for his excellent diorama, for his work in scenicking of Dungog and Mainline Layouts, and for his assistance to the Youth Group.

Youth Group

Rolling stock - 4 plank goods wagon, 00 gauge, Lukas White

Structures - Engine shed, 4 mm scale, Joshua Norman

Best overall - Oil tank wagon scene, H0 scale, Lukas White

President's Encouragement Award (runner-up overall) - Joshua Norman for his excellent work on assembly and painting of his engine shed model.
